Trent's Tracks of 2007: The Top 2

Hello everyone, and welcome to the final instalment of Trent’s Tracks of 2007.

I am going to be counting down my top 40 tracks from 2007, with two songs added to the list every weekday throughout April. I hope you will all enjoy this nostalgic trip down memory lane as we go back to a decade ago!

Well, what a month it has been. We have counted down 38 songs over the last four weeks, all of which are amazing and showcase what a fantastic year for music 2007 was. But, it is now time to reveal which songs have made it to the top 2, and ultimately find out which one has made it to number 1.

So, a bit about the last two songs before telling you the order.

Mika spent 5 weeks at number 1 in the UK with this song, and it effectively launched his career and the incredible year he would go on to have, with other hits such as Big Girl (You Are Beautiful), Happy Ending, and Love Today all going on to be big sellers in 2007 for him. Grace Kelly is a fast, happy tune with a very singalong vibe to it.

The other song left is sadly the only big hit this band have had here in the UK (where it reached number 2), which is a shame because I think they are an incredible talented group. I love this song and when choosing this chart, there was no question that it should make the top 10 somewhere. Hey There Delilah is a powerful song about a guy longing for a girl who’s far away and although it’s been done a thousand time before, this track still feels somehow unique.

So, Mika’s Grace Kelly made it to number 1 in the UK charts and Hey There Delilah by Plain White T’s only got to number 2. The question is, do those positions reflect where they both finish up on my Track’s of 2007?

No, they don’t.

And that is it! Plain White T’s are number 1 on Trent’s Tracks of 2007, with Mika a very worthy second place.

Thank you all so much for supporting this series over the last four weeks.

Although this series started at the beginning of April, I did in fact start working on this back in January, so I put A LOT of effort and planning into it. The hard work is all worth it though when you guys show your love for it, so thank you.

You can let me know in the comments if there are any songs you think I missed off this chart which could have made it in, or if you think another song deserved to be at number 1.

As usual, I will leave you my social media links in the table at the end of this post where you follow me for updates and news on future posts.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this series. Until my next post, keep positive, keep smiling, and above all, keep believing!
