Trent's Tracks of 2007: 10 and 9

Hello everyone, and welcome back to Trent’s Tracks of 2007.

I am going to be counting down my top 40 tracks from 2007, with two songs added to the list every weekday throughout April. I hope you will all enjoy this nostalgic trip down memory lane as we go back to a decade ago!

It is already the final week of April, which means that this countdown is almost at an end. By this time on Friday, we will have gone through all 40 songs and I will have revealed my number 1 song of 2007.

Today, we enter the top 10.

At 10, it is the biggest-selling song of 2007 in the UK. It spent a staggering 10 weeks at the top of the charts here in the summer of that year. Whilst this country suffered some of the worst floods for years, this song was playing on radios and MP3 players (remember those?) everywhere almost as though it was taunting us Brits about being under our umbrellas all summer! Yes, here is the summer sensation that is Umbrella from Rihanna and Jay-Z.

At 9, a cover version of a classic Zutons track that turned into a massive worldwide smash. From the opening few seconds, you can instantly recognise this song, such is its status as an icon. This is Mark Ronson and the dearly missed Amy Winehouse with the unbelievable Valerie.

Wow, what a way to kick off the top 10!

I would love to know what you think either down in the comments or via any of my social media links in the table below.

We have eight more tracks still to come this week, with the next two out tomorrow. Look out for that, and until then, keep positive, keep smiling, and above all, keep believing!
