Christmas Eve!

Christmas Day is tomorrow! It’s Christmas Eve, which means that in just a few hours, all of the months of build-up and preparation will come to fruition. I am sure you are all as excited as I am, and cannot wait to open your presents in the morning. As a child, I used to get so worked up on Christmas Eve. I would be really happy and excited to see what Santa had given me. For weeks, it would build up in my mind, and then ultimately on Christmas Day I would run into the living room and dive on my pile of presents, opening them eagerly. Those good times really are the things you remember about your childhood as you get older, and all of the happy Christmases stay with you forever. Nowadays, Christmas is more about being around people and making valuable memories rather than the gifts I get. I have said previously how much I value the people in my life, and that is never more apparent than at Christmas. As I have got older, I have begun to appreciate the sentimental things ra

Desserts!

After you’ve got through you main meal on Christmas day, it doesn’t matter how full you are, there is always room for you to have a dessert. There are quite few options for what you can have, and I’m going to be talking about some of those today. CHRISTMAS PUDDING Perhaps the most traditional and most festive of all the choices on this list, Christmas pudding. I am always surprised when people tell me they don’t like it, because I think it is absolutely delicious. YULE LOG As I explained in a previous post, I am someone who absolutely ADORES chocolate. Therefore, whenever I get the chance to eat it, I do so! A chocolate log is the best excuse to eat it as part of a Christmas meal. Cake, chocolate, and icing sugar in one dish! Absolutely divine! MINCE PIES I have been informed that mince pies are very much a British tradition, and it is difficult to find them anywhere else in the world. By the way, this doesn’t mean that contain beef or lamb mince, just in case

My Favourite Christmas Song!

Since 3 rd December, I have been slowly counting down my top 20 favourite Christmas songs. Well, after three weeks, it is time to reveal my top two and ultimately, the name of my favourite festive song of all time. Before I do, I want to go back and revise numbers 20 to 3 in the countdown. 20 Kim and Mel Rockin Around The Christmas Tree https://youtu.be/hdnaPAJgAQI 19 Chris Rea Driving Home For Christmas https://youtu.be/czhZbqpyBm8 18 Mud Lonely This Christmas https://youtu.be/NJ6kJ7GWtv0 17 Paul and Linda McCartney Wonderful Christmas Time https://youtu.be/V9BZDpni56Y 16 Frankie Goes To Hollywood Power of Love https://youtu.be/NyoTvgPn0rU 15 Chris de Burgh Spaceman Came Travelling https://youtu.be/KODskj8gd74 14 Darlene Love All Alone on Christmas https://youtu.be/5kkZ2jBQ454

Christmas Dinner!

With 4 days to go until the big event now, I hope you’re all getting excited about it. One of the highlights of the day is undoubtedly the large dinner. Christmas is known as a time of overindulgence and binge eating, and the main meal on Christmas day is undoubtedly the highlight for me, and for many of you I’m sure. Today I’m going to be taking you through the many types of meat, vegetables and other trimmings you might have on your plate this Friday. Hope you aren’t too hungry by the end of this post! MEAT When it comes to meat, there are several different options for what you can have at the table this festive period. Whereas the traditional choice is turkey, people are now going against this convention and opting for other types of meat for their Christmas dinner. In the past, I have had beef, duck and even goose instead of turkey. They were all amazing and I would highly recommend any of these if you feel like trying out something new this Christmas.
