Trent's Tracks: Through the Decades 28

Hello everyone and welcome to the next Trent’s Tracks: Through the Decades.

Over the course of five weeks (October 24th – November 27th), I will be exploring some of the finest music from each of the last five decades (yes, that’s a whole week for each decade) with a brand-new song being added to the list every single day. By the end of the five weeks, there will be 35 songs on the list for you to enjoy from throughout the last 46 years.

We have now reached the end of 2000s week. There is just one track left, and what a track it is.

Ever since her emergence in the late 1990s, Christina Aguilera has grown to become one of the world’s bestselling female artists, giving us huge hits like Dirrty, Hurt, and Genie in a Bottle.

This song is without a shadow of a doubt her best, and is an iconic piece of music, which shows off her incredible voice, and makes me truly appreciate the talent that Aguilera is.

Reportedly recorded in just one take, Beautiful (what an apt name) is all about remembering that you are important and beautiful no matter what anyone else thinks. It should be a reminder that we all matter. The moving set of lyrics make this, for me, one of the finest songs ever written.

We have now reached the end of the Noughties, and have just one decade left on this journey – the 2010s, which will kick off tomorrow!

See you all tomorrow, but until then, I remind you to keep positive, keep smiling, and above all else, keep believing!
