Trent's Tracks: Through the Decades 17
Hello
everyone and welcome to this part of Trent’s Tracks: Through the Decades.
Over
the course of five weeks (October 24th – November 27th),
I will be exploring some of the finest music from each of the last five decades
(yes, that’s a whole week for each decade) with a brand new song being added to
the list every single day. By the end of the five weeks, there will be 35 songs
on the list for you to enjoy from throughout the last 46 years.
The
1990s was a “Battle of the Bands” due to the large amount of groups that rose
to fame during the decade.
The
Manchester group who had today’s song are known for being rivals of Blur, and
of course for the famously feuding brothers who fronted the band. They achieved
phenomenal success throughout the 90s and into the 2000s, splitting up in the
early 2010s when the Gallagher brothers no longer felt they could work
together.
I
absolutely love this song, and it is possibly Oasis’ finest work. Give it up
for the incredible Wonderwall.
