Happy New Year!

Image
Hello again everyone. For my final post of 2016, I wanted to thank you all for an incredible year. This year I have, amongst other things, seen this page rise to over 7,500 views, been to France (twice), and finally come off antidepressants. Along the way, I have met some incredible new people, and had some great times with old friends as well. I cannot wait to open the My 2016 project in the next few days and read through the many more amazing things I did this year. Happy New Year to you all, and I hope 2017 brings you all the luck and happiness in the world. Whatever you are doing, wherever you are going to be, enjoy the celebrations but stay safe. See you all in 2017, and until then, keep positive, keep smiling, and always keep believing! SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS TWITTER INSTAGRAM YOUTUBE WATTPAD FACEBOOK YOUNOW TUMBLR SPOTIFY

Those We Lost in 2016

THOSE WE LOST IN 2016 Hello again everyone. I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate) and you are all happy and well as the New Year approaches. Today’s post is going to be a rather sad one unfortunately. It’s no secret that this year has been terrible in terms of celebrity deaths. Here I’m going to talk about just a few of the huge number we have lost this year. RICK PARFITT For nearly fifty years, Status Quo were one of the greatest rock bands in this country, with hits such as Rockin’ All Over the World, In The Army Now, and Whatever You Want among many others. Sadly, guitarist Rick Parfitt died on Christmas Eve, after suffering an infection on a shoulder injury.    PETE BURNS I spoke about the death of Pete Burns a few months ago, when I added You Spin Me Right Round (Like A Record) to my Through the Decades playlist as a bonus track. The link to that post is below. http://stayblogitive.blogspot.com/2016/11/tren

Blogmas 2016: JKL

Welcome back to Blogmas everybody. I am still catching up, so this post will be J, K, and L in our festive alphabet. JUMPERS This is another thing I spoke about during last year’s Blogmas, but I will talk about it again briefly. Christmas jumpers are traditionally seen as garish and are a source of great amusement, and yet they somehow seem to have become fashionable in recent years. Their designs are less ugly, with there now being a wide range of very trendy festive knitwear for us all to enjoy. For the last four years, I have bought into this trend (something I rarely do) and have bought a new Christmas jumper every December since 2013. I rather like this tradition I have created for myself. Here you are then guys, here is my 2016 Christmas jumper. JOY Even as an adult, I still have the same feeling of joy that I had when I was little. This is such a wondrous, happy time of year, and we should all get to feel that sense of joy and happiness tha

Blogmas 2016: H and I

Hello again everyone, and welcome back to Blogmas 2016. We have now reached the letters H and I in this festive alphabet. Enjoy! HOT DRINKS As the weather gets colder, we all crave those cosy moments of sitting down and wrapping our hands around a warm mug filled with something hot to drink, be it tea, coffee, hot chocolate, or something else. I spoke about this in more depth during last year’s Blogmas, a post you can access here. http://stayblogitive.blogspot.com/2015/12/hot-drinks.html HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS It is important to remember that this is a holiday season, which means different things to different people. For me, it usually means relaxation and a chance to have a break before the next term begins. This year, however, I have a huge amount of uni work to do over the festive break, meaning that I will have to take time out to do that. But, I am going to take the time to have a holiday and chill out, because it is just as important to have a break as i

Blogmas 2016: G

Hello again everyone, and welcome along to the G post of this Blogmas A-Z. GINGERBREAD HOUSE In recent years, I have seen many people on the internet build gingerbread houses for a festive video/ Vlogmas event. Usually, I don’t get in on these kind of internet trends (partly because I write blogposts rather than make videos) but this year I decided that I would get in on the action for the first time, and have a go at constructing one. All the bits and pieces ready to go! It’s fair to say it didn’t get off to the best of starts. The walls didn’t stick together first time (because I used the wrong type of icing for it) so I had to start again. Once I did, one of the wall panels broke in half before I’d even put the fourth wall on. Not only that, but without even getting close to putting it on, one of the roof pieces also broke. So, at this point, I considered giving up on the whole thing altogether. However, after encouragement from my flatmates who were in the r

Hello again everyone, and welcome back to Blogmas 2016. For part F of this A-Z, I thought I would share with you some of my favourite festive things. FAVOURITE SONG Those of you who have been with me since last Blogmas will remember that I counted down my favourite festive tracks throughout the month. After going through twenty tracks, I revealed my number one two days before Christmas day. My favourite is still this one, because it is just out of this world. Mariah Carey All I Want For Christmas Is You Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/0bYg9bo50gSsH3LtXe2SQn Video: https://youtu.be/yXQViqx6GMY If you would like to see the complete top 20 of my favourite Christmas songs, you can do on the following link: http://stayblogitive.blogspot.com/2015/12/my-favourite-christmas-song.html FAVOURITE MOVIE As with my favourite song, I also spoke about my favourite movie during last year’s Blogmas event. Blogmas 2016: E

Hello again everyone and welcome back to Blogmas 2016. For the letter E, I thought I would give you my long awaited next End of an Era post. I haven’t updated since the end of September, and a lot has happened since then for me to fill you in on. DISSERTATION You may recall that one of my major worries before the start of term was the thought of having to do my dissertation. At the time, I thought that I would end up having to do two, due to the fact that I am doing a Joint Honours degree. However, I found out not long after starting term that I would only have to do ONE, and that I could choose which side of my degree I did it on. Obviously, this was a great relief, and in spite of the huge amount of work I knew I would have to do, it felt good to know that it would be half the amount I originally thought it would be. I then got the opportunity to go back to France to carry out the research for my project. Since I came back from my placement year in June, I had been i

Hello again all and welcome to Part D of Blogmas 2016, which will be all about the Doctor Who Christmas Special. THE RETURN OF DOCTOR MYSTERIO PREVIEW Doctor Who’s annual Christmas special is a huge event for me and millions of other Whovians around the world, and has become an integral part of Christmas itself. Whilst everyone else has the thing that they want to watch in our house on Christmas Day, this is my show, my thing if you like. Not only does it give me something to look forward to for the 25 th , it also bridges the gap between the series, the last of which was over a year ago, and the next of which is in April (MOFFAT!). Now, down to this year’s special itself. You can view the clips released so far on the links below, otherwise what I say next might not make much sense. First look: https://youtu.be/kFcSe0VrbXc Children in Need clip: https://youtu.be/miZVEkic89I I have to admit that when I first saw what this episode was going to be about, it fille
