Trent's Tracks: Through the Decades 5
Hello
everyone, and welcome to day 5 of Trent’s Tracks: Through the Decades.
Over
the course of five weeks (October 24th – November 27th),
I will be exploring some of the finest music from each of the last five decades
(yes, that’s a whole week for each decade) with a brand new song being added to
the list every single day. By the end of the five weeks, there will be 35 songs
on the list for you to enjoy from throughout the last 46 years.
We
are down to the last three tracks from the 1970s now, and I promise you they
are three absolute crackers!
John
Lennon is one of the most well-known artists ever, mainly down to the huge success he
had as part of the Beatles, the biggest selling group of all time. However,
after their split in 1971, he went on to have an incredibly successful career
as a soloist as well.
This
song was recorded and released by John Lennon in the early 1970s, even though
it didn’t actually reach number one in the UK until January 1981, weeks after
his shock murder in December 1980. It has ended up becoming his bestselling
single, and it’s easy to see why. Its simple message of peace, and a world
where all people are equal, is something which resonates with so many people,
myself included.
Track
number 5 of our look at the 1970s is Imagine
by John Lennon, and I think you’ll agree that this just shows off what a
talent he truly was.

colourful table below.
I’ll
be posting another new song tomorrow, so keep an eye out for when that goes
live. Until then, though remember to keep positive, keep smiling, and above all
else, keep believing!
