Trent's Tracks: Through the Decades 4
Hello
everyone, and welcome to today's edition of Trent’s Tracks: Through the Decades.
Over
the course of five weeks (October 24th – November 27th),
I will be exploring some of the finest music from each of the last five decades
(yes, that’s a whole week for each decade) with a brand new song being added to
the list every single day. By the end of the five weeks, there will be 35 songs
on the list for you to enjoy from throughout the last 46 years.
Today
is day 4 of 1970s week, which means we are already halfway through our first
decade!
The
track which I am giving you today comes from one of the bestselling disco
groups of all time, and to be honest, it doesn’t get more 1970s than this song.
The three brothers known as the Bee Gees had many hits over the decade
including More Than A Woman, You Should
Be Dancing, and Tragedy. This however, is without a doubt their most loved
and recognised song.
Sadly,
of the original members, it is just Barry Gibb who is still with us, with
Maurice dying in 2003, and Robin leaving us in 2012. But their legacy lives on,
and Barry’s performance on stage with Coldplay at this year’s Glastonbury was
quite simply incredible, proving that the talent and the music still endures,
even though the group itself no longer exists.
Ladies
and Gentleman, I give you the great Stayin’
Alive, a disco classic.

I
would love to know your thoughts on this song or on anything I post about. To let
me know what you think, there is the comments section, or all of my social
media if you prefer, which are in the table below.
Another
great 70s song is on the way tomorrow, so look out for when that goes live, and
until then, keep positive, keep smiling, and above all else, keep believing!
