Trent's Tracks: Through The Decades 1
Hello
everyone, and welcome along to Trent’s Tracks: Through the Decades.
Over
the course of five weeks (October 24th – November 27th),
I will be exploring some of the finest music from each of the last five decades
(yes, that’s a whole week for each decade) with a brand new song being added to
the list every single day. By the end of the five weeks, there will be 35 songs
on the list for you to enjoy from throughout the last 46 years.
Without
further ado then, let’s begin this epic musical journey with a look into the
1970s.
I
find it appropriate that this artist should kick off this trip through the
decades, given that his career and his influence on music would last through
the next four decades. You cannot deny the astounding impact that his life and
music had on millions of people around the world throughout his lifetime. His
untimely death in 2009 was an event that stunned the world, and the world is
absolutely a poorer place without him, and without his amazing talent.
After
having success with his brothers as part of The Jackson 5, the 1970s saw
Michael Jackson go solo and start off a long list of smash hits which would
make him a household name over the years to come, so much so that this may not
be his only song on Through the Decades.
For
now though, I give you the incredible tune that is Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough from 1979. What a way to get this
list started!
