Warm Colours

Even though I am such a creative person, I have rarely shown that side to my personality on here. That is why I decided to start this series of posts about colour and the way I think about and use colour in my projects and in my day-to-day life. I hope you like these posts and can take some inspiration from this series.  Today, I wanted to talk about the three main colours I describe as warm colours; red, yellow and orange. There are a lot of things I associate with red. It can represent so many different things both positive and negative. On the negative side, you have things such as demons, blood and anger. It can be sort of representative of evil, of fire and of death, probably due to the link to blood. However, there are so many wonderful things that might be associated with the colour red. Often it is used to mean love and passion and is the colour of roses and Valentine’s Day. I consider it among the warm colours because of its connection to heat and the intensity of the

New things are happening!

There have been two major developments in my life over the last few weeks which I want to talk about today. Last Monday, I went live on YouNow for the first time. Although it started out awkward and I felt like a massive amateur (listen to it, I kept saying it!) I am massively satisfied that I managed to beat my confidence issues to do it. When I came off, I was buzzing and it made me feel so happy to have achieved this huge step and to have tried this amazing new thing that I couldn’t have imagined doing just a few months ago. I promise that in the future, I will be doing more and they will DEFINITELY be better than that one. I’m thinking that next time, it will be a live Q and A so comment or tweet me your questions for that. If you want to fan me on YouNow or just watch my stream again, the link to my page is now in the social media section at the bottom of the page. I also decided that I would at last start the process of setting up my YouTube channel. This is somethin

Rebrand!

If you’ve been following me on all of my social media, you will have noticed that I have now rebranded it. Today, I wanted to talk you through some of the changes that have taken place. The colours To be honest, I drafted out a few different colour schemes before I settled on my eventual choice of orange and white. Even though the colour scheme is simple, I feel like it has made the world of difference to how my blog and my pages appear. Even though it wasn’t intentional, it makes the theme more positive, and so it reflects what the overall theme of this blog is supposed to be. The logo I don’t know why, but I love working with diamonds and triangles in anything creative I do and I wanted this to show in my logo, because after all this blog should have elements which reflect my personality. I’m really happy with my eventual design and the overall final look. The banner When it came to the banner, there was no competition for what it would be. It had to be the p

500 PAGEVIEWS

I am so happy right now! Three days ago, I included a 400 pageviews thankyou in my last post, as well as promising to do a livestream when I got to 500 pageviews. At the time, I thought it would take me at least a few weeks to reach 500, but as it turns out, it took a matter of days. Seriously, I am so overwhelmed by reaching this point so quickly and you cannot possibly know how grateful I am to all of you for getting me here. It still doesn’t quite feel right when I look at the number of views and see that it has risen to 500. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every single person who has ever taken the time to read any of my posts and it really does mean the world to me. Now I only ask that you stick with me because as long as my pageviews keep on rising, I will keep on posting. Once again, thank you to you all and be sure to tune in to my livestream on Sunday 16 th August at 4pm UK time. I will post the link on my Twitter and on all of my other social media as

500 pageviews promise

I cannot believe that I am already on 400 pageviews. It is crazy when you think that I posted my 250 pageviews thankyou just a few weeks ago. As I said then, thanks so much for your support and for sticking with me. Now that this blog seems to be rising at such a pace, I have been thinking about what I want to do when I hit the next one. Having thought about it a lot, I have decided that at 500 pageviews, I will be doing my first livestream over on YouNow. I think this is a logical next step for me to get to interact properly with you guys and for you guys to be able to ask questions and chat to me. If this is successful, I will be doing more of them in the future and this will, I hope, lead me into creating a YouTube channel and being able to post regular videos and interact on a more regular basis with all of you. So, I guess that’s all I wanted to say today. If you could share this around with your friends and followers and help me get to my next landmark a lot quicker, it

Why do I blog?

The recent surge of pageviews on this blog (thank you by the way) has got me thinking about why exactly I started blogging in the first place and why I continue to do it. For me, there are three main reasons why I blog. Means of expression Almost a year ago when I put up my first post, it was because I wanted somewhere to express my views. Since then, I have continued to use this blog as a place to express exactly what I’m feeling at the time and as a place where I am free to talk about subjects that I have opinions on. I have things I want to say and this seems like a perfect place to share my emotions and my passions with the world. Writing skills Although it is something I haven’t really posted about yet, I have a long held aspiration to become an author or writer in some capacity in the future. This blog is a great place to practice my writing skills and to maybe share some of my ideas about writing with people who are willing to take note of what it is I have to s

What my followers mean to me

Today, I thought it was time I told you all what you mean to me. When I began my first blog (now privatised) back in September last year, I had a philosophy as to how I would approach it. I told myself that if each post got just one person reading it then it was worth doing. If I had just a few dedicated Twitter followers who took the time to read all of my posts then that would be fine. Eleven months on, here I am at 75 Twitter followers and almost at 350 pageviews for this blog which I started back in February. This is so much more than I ever expected and it just makes me feel so amazing that you guys are taking the time to help my blogs grow and develop. So, from the bottom of my heart, I say thank you to all of you. Thank you to every Twitter follower, every reader, everyone who has ever taken the time out to show an interest in what I have to say. You all mean so much to me, whether this is the first time you’re here or you’re returning. It means the world that I

Goals

Last week, I turned 21. For me, this milestone seems like a good opportunity to set myself some goals for the future. So, I have set myself five things I want to achieve by the time I reach my 22 nd birthday in a year’s time. Get to 1000 pageviews In a previous post, I said that it meant a lot to me to hit 200 pageviews and now I’m looking ahead and hoping that this blog will become more popular over the next twelve months and I think it is realistic to aim to reach 1000 pageviews in that time. Get 100 followers on Twitter At the time of writing, I have around 50 followers and would really like to double this within the next year and I hope that you will all share this blog around and get people to follow me on Twitter so that this blog can continue to grow and develop. Start a YouTube channel This is something I’m going to talk about more in a future post so for now I will only say that this is something that it is in the works. Pass my placement year
