Trent's Tracks September 30th

Image
Hello all, and welcome to the last Trent’s Tracks of the month. Is it really the end of September already? For this week’s song, I am taking you all the way back to 1967. This is one of those songs where it is hard to describe why I like it, because I just do. It is catchy, it sounds great, and is simply a brilliant song from a very good group. Not many artists from the 1960s continue to have an influence on people today, so hats off to Davey Jones (who is sadly no longer with us) and the rest of The Monkees for creating this masterpiece which lives on and is still as recognisable today as it was five decades ago. So, ladies and gentlemen, I give you The Monkees with the great Daydream Believer, a true superstar of a song. End of an Era 2: Term is Here!

Hello everyone. It’s been about a month now since my last End of an Era post, and a lot has happened since then, so it’s time to give you all an update.   LAPTOP ISSUES At the start of September, my laptop broke and had to go in for repair. With just weeks to go before I was due to come back to university, this was one of the worst things that could’ve happened at that point. It was so frustrating because I had worked so hard trying to make sure that I was in control of everything, and suddenly the one thing I needed to keep on top of everything had broken, and I would be without it for 10 days! Believe it or not, this story gets worse before it gets better. Imagine my relief at getting the message through saying that my computer had been repaired and was back in store, and then the pure happiness when I got it back, and was able to use it again. I began doing what I needed to do, catching up on what I hadn’t been able to do for a week and a half. Just THREE HOURS...

Trent's Tracks September 23rd

Hello again everyone, and welcome to this week’s Trent’s Tracks. This year, 2016, saw the end of the popular US talent show American Idol after 15 seasons. Over the years, it gave the world some now well-known artists, among them the likes of Clay Aiken and Kelly Clarkson. Today’s song comes from the youngest winner of the series, Jordin Sparks, who won it in 2007 aged just 17. Since she won it, many of her singles have become international hits, including here in the UK. I believe she is a superstar, and this song is amazing to match the amazing talent that Jordin Sparks really is. Here you go then, I give you the brilliant Jordin Sparks, and the equally incredible Tattoo. Enjoy! Trent's Tracks September 16th

Hello again everyone, and welcome to another Trent’s Tracks. I apologise for not posting last Friday. This was down to laptop issues, but to make up for it, I am adding TWO tracks this week instead of one. Hope you enjoy! Over the last few years, Owl City has risen and risen in terms of popularity, producing some great songs along the way. I love the fact that it is a modern take on classic synth music, something very rarely done with such style by other artists. Ever since the first single Fireflies back in 2010, I have been a fan of every song they have released. For this reason, both of this week’s songs are from them. Track number 1 is the theme song from the 2013 film “Wreck It Ralph”. You may judge me for loving a song from a kids’ movie, but I don’t care, because it is an incredibly catchy song, and I promise you you will love it. I give you the amazing When Can I See You Again. Trent's Tracks September 2nd

Hello everyone. After a month away, Trent’s Tracks is back, and I am kicking off September with an absolute cracker of a song.  Over the years, a lot of songs sung in other languages have become huge hits around the world, even if the meaning of the lyrics is unknown. We sing along without speaking the language, simply loving the song for what it is. I do not know how many songs with Romanian lyrics have had success internationally, but this is by far the most recognisable and well-loved. Since its release in 2004, this song has been sampled by other artists like Rihanna, and has sparked a great many viral dance videos. Cheesy though it may be, it is a truly memorable tune, and no matter who you are, you will recognise this song as soon as you hear that iconic first line. Here you are then, this is Moldovan pop group O Zone, with their hit Dragostea din tei, also known as Numa Numa. O Zone Dragostea din tei / Numa Numa Spotify Link: https:...
