Wanderlust: Scotland

Image
Hello again everyone. I hope you’re all feeling good and staying positive. This is the third post in my Wanderlust series, where I talk about all of the places in the world I want to travel to. We are still on the UK, but the idea is to gradually get further away from home as the series goes on. For now though, here are my reasons to go to Scotland. 1. RICH HISTORY Scotland has such a rich and fascinating history to uncover, with its castles, its peoples, and of course, its many battles against the English. I for one really want to learn more about this part of the world and its people and how it got to where it is today. 2. SEVEN CITIES There may only be seven official cities in Scotland, but each of them is unique. Each one has its own history, and its own features which make it stand out. Be it Edinburgh or Glasgow, Stirling or Inverness, Aberdeen or Dundee, or Scotland’s most recently designated city Perth, there is so much to see in each of them. 3. THE F...

Wanderlust: Brighton

Image
Hello again everyone. I hope you’re all doing well and loving life right now. Today I’m bringing you the second in my Wanderlust series, all about the places I want to travel to. Those of you who have been supporting me for a long time may remember that my third ever post on this page (nearly two and a half years ago) was about my trip to Brighton. Ever since then, it has been a place I have really wanted to return to, and here are my five reasons why it is such a beautiful place to visit. The fact that Brighton is a seaside town is one of its major selling points and is why it has grown into such a popular, vibrant city. I don’t get many chances to visit the coast and so when I do, it is always such a fantastic experience which takes me back to being a child. In case you hadn’t realised, the photo I use as my profile picture on this page and my social media was taken on Brighton beach on that trip two and a half years ago, as was the header photo to this blog! ...

Wanderlust: London

Image
Hello again everyone. I hope you’re all having a wonderful day and staying positive. This is the first in my new series called Wanderlust, where I talk about all of the places in the world that I would love to visit. And the first place on the list is London. I have already been to London several times in the past (as mentioned in previous posts) but I would love to go back and see more of it. Here are 10 reasons why I want to visit our nation’s capital again in the future. Ever since it first opened in 1923, Wembley stadium has been seen as the home of English football. Over nearly 80 years, the Twin Towers of the original stadium became an icon for football fans all around the world, and hosted many famous events over its history. Amongst these, five European Cup finals, the Live Aid concert in 1985, and of course the famous World Cup Final of 1966, won by England on their own turf. It closed in 2000 to be demolished and replaced with a stadium for the 21 st ce...

New Post Series

Hello again everyone. I hope your day is going well and that you’re all feeling positive. Today I have an announcement for you all. Last year, I wrote a couple of posts about travel and the places I wanted to travel to. I enjoyed these posts so much and I have a real wanderlust ever since returning from France last May. And, having thought about it a lot more, I realise that there are so many places in the world I want to see that I didn’t write about in those posts. With these things in mind, I have decided to write a series of posts about places I want to travel to. These will be going up throughout the summer and I hope you will enjoy reading them and maybe get some inspiration about places you might want to go to as well. If you want to, you can follow me on my social media links (now in the sidebar on the left of the page) for updates on this and other future posts. Until next time, keep positive, keep smiling, and above all, keep believing!

Birmingham Pride and LGBT+ Awards

Hello everyone. I hope you’re all having a fabulous day and taking care of yourselves. Today I wanted to talk about two big things that have happened to me in the past week, and what they meant to me. BIRMINGHAM PRIDE 2017 Last weekend was Pride in my home city of Birmingham, a chance for all LGBT+ people to be themselves and celebrate their identities in a two-day festival. I have been the last two years and absolutely loved it both times, but this year, it took on a new meaning for me, for three reasons. 1 – It was my first Pride since coming out as bi earlier this year, so I felt more proud of myself and more safe in my identity than at previous events, during which I was going through the internal conflict of trying to work out who I was. 2 – I had a crisis on the Friday night which brought my mood crashing down at exactly the wrong time. At this point, I could have isolated myself and not gone because of how low I felt. However, I decided to do the oppos...
