Brighton 2015!

Last weekend, a group of friends and I spent the weekend in Brighton.

As someone who lives in one of the largest cities in the UK and works hard most of the time, it was a wonderful opportunity to do something different and experience a new city. Thankfully, the weather was kind to us and it was brilliant to just be able to relax and spend time away from the stress of uni work. It also brought us a lot closer together as a group and I felt more included than I ever have in any group at any other point I my life. So, knowing that some of them will read this, I want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you all for the best weekend of my entire life.

Now, to the main message of this post, which I guess is try new things. I respect the fact that everyone has comfort zones and not everyone is necessarily willing to push them and go out of their way to do something different, but it can be such an amazing thing to do and can provide wonderful experiences and opportunities which you will never ever forget. This doesn’t even have to be travelling to different places. It could be pursuing a new interest, joining a sports club or even just talking to someone in school or university or at work that you’ve never spoken to before. And even if you try something and it isn’t for you, there is nothing to say that you can’t stop it and move on to other interests, because the important thing in those situations is to try things, even if they turn out not to be exactly what you wanted. The point is to constantly push your comfort zone and have a go at new things, because until you have tried them, you just never know.

Something else I would also advise in light of having travelled to Brighton last weekend is that travelling, no matter how far or where to, can be a massive boost for your positivity and can give you a break from life’s stresses, as well as providing the experience of seeing and exploring new places. It doesn’t really matter where you go, but going somewhere you’ve never been before can be fantastic for self-confidence and for the stories you will be able to tell for years to come.

So, the two main pieces of advice from this are a) try new things and b) get out to new places as often as you can. Both of these have made me feel so good about myself and I know that this could be the case for other people as well.

As always, comment below and let me know what you think of this post. Does it help you? Could it be improved? For future posts and updates in general, follow me on Twitter (@TrentBlogs) and Tumblr (trentwilsonblogs) and until next time keep believing and stay blogitive!
