Hello again everyone, and welcome to day 5 of my Blogtober challenge. If you have missed my posts so far, you can catch up on the links down below: 1: Welcome to Blogtober 2: Types of Blog 3: Blog Names 4: Reasons I Blog Today I want to take you through a behind-the-scenes process I don’t often talk about – how I plan my posts. Planning is not a simple process and, for me at least, has multiple stages before I get anywhere near to the actual writing of the post STAGE ONE: SPIDER DIAGRAM Once I have had the idea for a post, I then have to set out all of the potential things I could talk about in that post. Sometimes, there are a few, sometimes there are more, and sometimes there are so many that it can be difficult for me to get my head around. So, in order to get the ball rolling on actually writing a post, I do a spider diagram. This is simply to get my ideas down on paper. Whatever I’m thinking in relation to the topic of the post gets put down ...

Hello again everyone, and welcome to day 4 of my Blogtober challenge. If you have missed my posts so far, you can catch up on the links down below: 1: Welcome to Blogtober 2: Types of Blog 3: Blog Names For today’s post, I am revisiting a post I put up on 6 th August 2015 – over two years ago – all about why I blog. Since then, things have changed so much for me, both personally and in blogging terms, so I thought it would be good to go back and do this same post, but update it to suit where I am now. Below, I have put my reasons for blogging. WRITING I have mentioned it so many times now, but I love writing, and want to make it my work at some point in the future, in one way or another. Be it as an author, a blogger, or getting a job which involves me using this passion of mine, this is ultimately what I would love to do with my life. By blogging on a regular (ish) basis, I get to learn and practice skills which may be key for any potential future job as ...

Hello again everyone, and welcome to day 3 of my Blogtober challenge. If you have missed my posts so far, you can catch up on the links down below: 1: Welcome to Blogtober 2: Types of Blog Today, as blogging week continues, I wanted to talk a bit about names. When creating a blog, choosing a name can be difficult and is sometimes a lengthy process, one which may involve several different options before finding the one which feels right. Before taking you through how I chose the names of my two blogs, I wanted to give you my top tips for coming up with a name for your blog. Make it relevant to you in some way For example, it might contain any of the following -         A phrase or saying that you really believe in, such as “Live life to the full” or “Carpe Diem” -         Your name, because after all you are its creator and many people feel more personally connected to something they’ve ...

Hello everyone, and welcome to a brand new month. This year, I have decided to do Blogtober, a blogging challenge which involves putting up a new post every day throughout the month of October. I haven’t blogged regularly in a while , so I want to try to get back into the swing of things and find my feet gain as a blogger. I love doing themed months , and I relish the challenge they give me. Successfully pulling them off also gives me a huge confidence boost in my ability as a writer. I want to try a new blogging challenge . In the past, I have done my own theme months and Blogmas, but never tried Blogtober. There are going to be lots of other bloggers out there doing this challenge , and I want to feel part of the community of creators who are taking it on. (By the way, if you are doing this challenge, let me know on Twitter because I would love to read some of your posts.) No...

New project!

Hello again everyone. Today, I have an exciting new project to tell you about. I have long-held passions for literature, reading, and writing. So, I thought what better way to combine all of these three great loves of mine than to write about literature I have read. Initially, I was just going to write about my favourite books here on Stay Blogitive, but after a lot of thought, I decided to start a new, separate blog specifically for book reviews. Yes, that’s right, I am starting a book review blog! Welcome to Trent’s Book Club! www.trentsbookclub.blogspot.com As the name Trent’s Book Club suggests, I hope for this to become more than just a review blog. I want you guys to get involved and give your views on these books/authors as well. I want TBC to be a place where you can read, review, and recommend literature to me/each other and find a whole host of new titles to explore along the way.   I hope you all find some new and exciting literature to explore alo...
